I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is licensed in California and Arizona; I have been working with clients since 2006. I enjoying working with all sorts of populations including people struggling with anxiety, mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), men's issues and eating disorders. I believe we all have the capacity to change and grow, and we each have times in our life where we need a little bit of extra help. I hope to help you to reconnect with yourself and with others in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I am hoping we can just start to get to know each other. I'll ask you what brought you into therapy at this point in time; I hope to hear a little bit of your story. I will tell you a little bit about myself and open the floor to any quesitons you might have. We will decide together if we feel this is a good match.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strengths as a therapist are my openness and non-judgemental attitude, my patience, and my belief that everyone has the ability to grow.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a wide range of experiences, and am happy to work with people of different populations and different issues. I have a long history of working with people struggling with food and body image related issues both in private practice and in eating disorder treatment centers. I also really enjoy working with men amd with older adults.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

CBT is helpful, and I tend to incorporate that into my sessions. Also, having focus on what is driving and sustaining unhelpful behaviors can help you to live a life more congruent with who you want to be.

EMDR

I utilize EMDR for trauma, as well as other issues including anxiety and depression.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

We can do this on its own, or as part of a larger treatment plan.
